THE
BERA DIAMOND ACADEMY

Empowering the Deaf and Disabled in the diamond and mining industries.

ABOUT THE BERA DIAMOND ACADEMY

The Bera Diamond Academy (BDA) is a specialized Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) College dedicated to serving the Deaf and Disabled communities within the diamond and mining sector. Established in the heart of Lenasia, Johannesburg South, BDA was founded with a clear mission: to empower, uplift, and create sustainable futures for individuals who are too often overlooked.

Through accredited skills training, monthly stipends, and direct pathways into the diamond polishing industry, we provide our learners with more than just education, we offer opportunity. Our work is deeply rooted in social responsibility, driving poverty alleviation, economic inclusion, and the advancement of women, youth, and marginalized communities.

At the BDA, we are committed to contributing meaningfully to local economic development (LED), while shaping a more inclusive, skilled, and equitable South Africa.

The BDA ‘purpose’.
